Tampa/St. Petersburg Area info.????

Looking for info, In the St.Petersburg area, for the last 20 years or so been staying in the Clearwater beach area: Adams mark, holiday inn sun spree and the Hyatt hotels which are now gone over the years....looking to try the St. Petersburg area, or something close to Tampa. looking for a nice hotel with a great pool and beach to stay at later this year with the family....any info would help.

It depends on your budget but the Vinnoy in my opinion is the best bang for the buck. It's right downtown near everything, close to the beaches and a very quality hotel.

Yep the Vinoy is a classic. Not cheap and its at least a 4 star hotel .

Further south, same amenities is the Don Cesar. Pass-A-Grille.

Either one is about a 2-minutes to I-275, and from there depending on
traffic maybe 10-15 minutes from Tampa.

The Sheraton on Sand Key is also a good place. Right on a private beach.

If you ever get to Sarasota stay at the Lido Beach Resort on Lido Key. Right on the gulf. Private beach, outdoor bar in the pools area, open balconies facing the gulf, free shuttle to all the restaurants and bars in St. Armands Circle.

The Don is a must if in budget, or the Alden is a great place with a good pool also.
