Default [VIDEO] Videos from Dragon Oct 2006

I've post the first of three videos I expect to make from our run this weekend on the Cherohola and the Dragon. This first one is from the Cherohola Skyway, beginning in fog near Robbinsville and ending in sunshine further up.

The video is on Youtube here : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1zd3GwaH7lQ

I'll be making a full resolution version and posting it on megaupload.com later this evening.

This year my filming seemed to work well, at least this portion. It's amazing how much less stupid you are when you're rested and stress free.

I'll post other videos here as I can create them. Enjoy.

The second video, Dragon southbound paced by the deputy.

Posted here on youtube : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j9GMhXj1gio

The full resolution (134MB) version of this second file is now up on megaupload.com.
Find it here http://www.megaupload.com/?d=Z10E389F
Enter the three letter code, click download, and choose a local save file location.

We didn't get a high speed run (as expected) with all the traffic but the colors and light were great. I took the liberty of doing a couple fast-mo clips in this one.

The third video, Dragon northbound running fast and loud.

Posted here on youtube : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zsKpBDVK8I

THe full resolution file (143MB) is now up on megaupload.com for local viewing. It's worth saving and viewing offline.
Find it here : http://www.megaupload.com/?d=D67VDXKG
Enter the three letter code and click download.

This run didn't need any gimmicks. The 6 minutes included here is the only free run we got this day. Purerock105 in front and C5nNC behind me bump drafting. There's nothing wrong with the audio portion, my loud exhaust just overwhelms it.

Working on the full resolution versions. This third video is 96MB in a small size for youtube.

No matter what speed we're doing on the Cherohola it looks tame. The road is just more open and it would take triple digit speeds to look fast.

Honestly, later in the run I wasn't comfortable with our entry speeds and I was squeezing the brake mid corner sometimes. But it still looks slow.

The last part of the vid is a replay of the previous clip with fast motion, something I just tried for the frst time.

No trucks, just deputy sheriffs and insane bikers at warp speed. I caught the biker that passed on the outside of a blind corner, that vid is coming but not tonight. Cowgirls are getting beat.

I ran the Tail of the Dragon after coming from Carlisle and it was awesome.

Thankfully no trucks or cops.

Default New video posted, this one on the Dragon

A new video is up on youtube and you can find the link in the first post of this thread. The run felt really slow but the video isn't so bad. There's a lot of color and good shots of Killboy and others. This is the pace one can expect on Saturday afternoon in prime fall color season.

Default Third (fast and loud) video is up on youtube

I've finished the upload of the third and final video. This run is northbound after we had lunch at the Crossroads of Time. The 6 minutes here are the only unblocked run time we ahd on the Dragon, typical of Saturday afternoon.

Chuck,
Cool that you caught the guy on bike passing us on double line! My wife told me I was following you too close. Sorry if I was.

I had my mirror turned up to be out of the way of the video, so I didn't see you most of the time. I knew you were getting really close but it didn't bother me. That Subie stayed on your butt too!

Hey that was me!

.......and yes I was....

That was a good run, guys. Thanks for letting me tag along. I didn't get to run with my Dad's club on Fri. So you were my surrogate, the only Vettes that I ran with the whole weekend.

Um...4 angry gerbils on speed!

j/k
I have a JDM STi drivetrain swap. It makes a bit more power than the US STi does, so maybe 330-345 hp at the crank. Plus I have the sticky STi tires on there too.

BTW You guys were loud. It sounded really good when you got on it in the strait parts.

Also, I wanted to tell you also that dragonslayer.com has their pics uploaded, and you guys have some pics in there. (If you goto page 8 on Fri 20th, you can see some pics of me right behind my Dad's yellow C6 convertible!)
Still waiting for killboy to upload his pics.

None of us is stock either, but we haven't done a transplant like you. I bet you surprise a lot of Honduhs.

You made page 1 of killboy.
