[RCG] Help With Z06 Screens
Hey guys, I'm in a pickle here. I recently ordered the whole Z06 screen kit from Ecklers and the parts came yesterday. The installation instructions for these pieces are oversimplified and will not work in real life.
Does anyone in the club have experience putting these screens into place? At this point I realize that I may have to disassemble parts of the car and may be in over my head. I could use some help or suggestions.
FYI, the kit includes screens for the fog lights, front brake duct, rear brake vents, and the door vent next to the BSM.
It's turned out to be the friggin' truth. Hope you are feeling OK this week.
I am feeling much better.thank you for asking.... Last week in the hospital and this week at home getting my strength back.
Don'tknow about next week yet...will see what the doctor says tomorrow.
Have them all here. The side gills are the hardest. Tape off your front brake ducts as the grill ends are raw and will scratch the paint. My front screens are just for looks--my car doesn't breathe through the nose anyway

Thanks, Jed. I learned about taping off the front brake duct the hard way. I'll have to see about getting those scratches out. What a bugger of a fit! Looks like the screen piece was too big and I deformed it a bit attempting it in and taking it back out.
Yes. the trick is to just get the top started in between the fascia and the brake duct (which pushes back). Then take some needle nose pliers and position it.
I removed the brake ducts when the intercoolers went in. My front screens are velcroed. The rears are just clean, peel and stick and the way my side are made I super glued the plastic blocks along the outside gill creating a space just wide enough for the screen to fit between the rim of the gill and the block and then glued the inside piece where the screen is bent--After running the car north of 150 sometimes the screens dislodge, but a needle nose will put it back in place no problem.

Thanks, Jed. Lots of useful info on this subject. I'll try your techniques and let you know how they worked.
And thank you Quik Stik for the PM. Dash is coming over tomorrow and we are gonna put our heads together and get this thing done! May give you a call if we get stuck.
