Wow,
What a great day of racing. We rolled out of here in Jacksonville at 0500 this morning and made it to the track by 0715. I got out to unload the car and remembered I left the key to the ramp door lock at home. With a little help, we got the door open and the car out for some racing.
We didn't start until about 1000 but the day went so smooth. A long course and a short course. We stopped for a break and lunch and I was still loaded up and on the road by 1530. We got home by 1815 after stopping for dinner.
Today's racing was fun and RPM did very good as a whole. I think RPM took overall FTD today and had some pretty fast times by everyone.
No competition challenge thing from the other clubs as most of the RCG, now CAT, didn't make it.
Had a great time with all our racing buds. I wish I could have made it the entire weekend. Maybe next time.
We missed many of you all that couldn't make it. I saw no problems with gas of any kind up there.
Good luck RPM and the rest of the Carolina region.

The gas had nothing to do with my failure to show.Had to haul my broken car home from Winston-Salem instead of on to Sanford as planned Really pisses me off as I was so looking forward to trying out the new car at high speed.. Must be the RCG curse..Glad everyone else had a great time
WOW! What a fantastic racing weekend! GREAT people, perfect weather and our cars on the track - what more could you want
Ed - it was especially good to see you and your family out there - you're little boy is adorable and that little C5R car of his is so cute!
We all wish you only the best as you head back out west and on to your duties. we'll be looking forward to the next time you can back out there with us!
RCG - you guys SO missed out on some big time fun! ... and gas - although a little pricey - was not a problem at all. DO plan to make the next event - it's a blast!
RPM - you are some amazing drivers - and such cool folks! I will never look at a highway barrell again without busting out laughing
My fellow CAT members - GREAT to see you again, too. Thanks for all the hard work to everyone who made this a fun weekend for all of us
Damn Ed! You should of hung around for dinner, it was a barrell of laughs
Good food, great friends, and funny, funny stories. We even got Donna to reveal one of her most secretive autocross training regiments. Not one that I would of ever thought to try, but it must work, she is amazing to watch.
OK, since you twisted my arm I'll divulge her technique. This should only be attempted by the most skilled of skilled autocrossers, and ONLY if you tow an open trailer. I don't want to give away the whole proceedure, so here's a few hints.
1) Racecar on an open trailer being pulled by your favorite tow vehicle.
2) A nice stretch of highway with light traffic.
3) A line as far as you can see of large orange construction barrells.

OOPS!! I think I've said too much?
Thanks! See ya soon!
Geez, man - now you've done it .... that WAS my top secret technique. Now that EVERYONE knows, from now on, rows of innocent highway barrels are at risk of being flung off the back of trailer fenders everywhere - all in the name of autocross practice

I bet she had the best time through the barrells even pulling a trailer.

I've seen her drive.. I'll bet she nailed a couple of those barrells.. I have to admit however, earlier this summer I was weaving in and out of the no wake bouys at 5mph in my 28 foot cruiser in the name of autoX practice....Talk about something handling like a BOAT

Hey,
It is a slow day out here. I wish you all would start talking more crap about RPM, RCG and any other racers on here.
I like seeing the B.S. fly.

I miss it too...Really sorry I wasn't there to stir it up.. Maybe a group of us could get together, fly out there and race some rental cars at an autocross

That has been done before. I know this guy who rented a ford focus and drove it at a local SCCA race at Pungo with a co-driver. That car was fun and it only cost the guy about 19.99 for the day.
