VETTE OWNERS/free drag class&mod party Aug6th. must read!!
After speaking with Roger at Horsepower Sales, we have come up with a day not to miss. Roger will open his shop to any vette owner that needs to prep car for Saturday night, or might need a lift to do certain repairs.
Basically, the shop will open from 9am to 3pm. All owners will have use of the lift if you schedule ahead of time to work on your own cars or be assisted by staff. We may have to limit time to 30 minutes per car, depending on turn out.
At 1pm, Roger and his staff will be holding a class on the basics of drag racing. I think this class is a must for any Challenge competitor. The class will be over around 2. Roger and staff will also be on hand to give advice and make suggestions as to what mods would be good for the way you use your vette.
Around 3:30pm, everyone involved or interested will be taking the cruise together to Moroso for another night of fun competition in the Corvette Challenge. I recommend this opportunity to every vette owner that reads this adn to their friends.
Roger is being very generous by allowing us to have a day at his shop to work on our cars. You are all welcome to bring your own supplies, but I think it would be best to get it at the shop to show our appreciation. I do suggest you bring your own tools. We don't want to disturb his shop too much.
So, come on out!!! Learn more about your vette, learn to drag race, wrench on your ride at a real shop, and have a good time. Please post if you are planning on attending the class or if you need the lift so we can get a count. Also, if you think you may need any parts let me know so they can be ordered and be ready for you that day.
See ya at the shop!!!!
Roger is being very good to us by doing this. I would like to see as many vettes poss
Mike you and Roger are doing a great thing for the members. I'm in and will help turn wrenches for a few hours. The date is AUGUST 6th

This is a really good idea. We have have had shop visits with our sponsors but never on a race day. This might be a good concept to follow.
I do hope some drivers take adavantage of this if even for just and oil change on a lift or new plugs and wires or other basic maintenance or maybe new exhaust.
Wow, great to see something like this down in my neck of the woods!!!!! I'm glad you posted this early that way I can start thinking of exscuses why I can't work that Saturday.
Do you think we can put a set of TPIS headers on in that 1/2 hour?

Joseph: 1/2 hour for the headers might be asking a bit much but we might be able to get the exhaust on.

I was actually kidding, but would have loved a yes!
I am looking for a shop to do the install along with a pre-fab dual exhaust that I have. There's a Vette shop down here, but the guys are less than friendly.
Count me in! Taaz024 and JohnSea06 and I had a great time hanging out with Roger and sons and crew for several hours last Thursday while I got some work done. For those who haven't been there, Roger's is a like a 60's So Cal speed shop where you not only get great prices on cool toys, you get free advice from racers who have been doing these things their whole life. Keep your ears open around there - you will learn something.
What a great deal Roger - thanks for having us over!

I'll be there! Just be careful bringing a wad of cash with you - you're likely to spend it on some new mods...

I'm jealous. I wish you guys the best and take advantage of the chance to listen to what will be said about Drag Racing. Free advice is always good advice. This guy sounds like an awsome guy to open his shop to you guys.
I might hang out there since I'm only 10 mins away. Maybe he'll do this for us Roadcourse guys too? I'll be bleeding my lines and will probably be putting on new rotors and maybe rear pads when I get my car back and a lift would sure help

Roger and his 2 sons have many many years of Drag experience and the trophies to prove it. Roger just got another C5 - I think its his 45th vette!

Don't worry Mark. Mike included all racers when he and Roger were speaking.
