I work in Miami Lakes. It was all dairy farm land years and years ago. There are only a few dairy cow fields left there as it is now about 70% residential and 29% business.
The Lakes is a very upscale area. Main Street has nice shops, restaurants, and entertainment places. Like most of the Miami area, the elementary schools are very good, but the middle and high schools are so-so.
Traffic in the AM and PM rush hour is nasty....just like in any big city area.
Houses, condos, and apartments are all over Miami Lakes, but again, fairly pricey. There is plenty of shopping in the area.
Commuting via the highways to the Lakes is easy as most major highways lead to/near the area.

Where in Pa. are you relocating from?

Sure..... It is about 1.5 miles from my office Konica-Minolta. Cordis is on the eastern edge of Miami Lakes.
If you have any detailed questions, feel free to e mail me at shoptek@bellsouth.net

I'm originally from East Stroudsburg. In fact, the family and I are heading back up this week for a visit.

You'll love the weather down here. Tons of Steeler fans down here too (Myself included) but you wont be seeing many local Penguin games.

WARNING, South Florida is out of control!! Don't do it. If you want to move to Florida move to Sarasota or Martin County. There is no open space in S FLA they are packed in from the beach to the Everglades.. my 2 cents

Miami Lakes is a bit crowded, but lots of things around there as mentioned above. And S. FLa. is full, but depending on the industry you are in, it might be difficult to find work on the West coast of FLa. If you are a Philly fan, there are lots in S. Fla. You will find the Vette gang does like to get together whenever possible. Just let us know when you get down here.
Sunny, no clouds, 70 degrees today, great weather for a vert or coupe with the top off.
