Cruise In VI Ratpackers will be there! How about you?
All the one day regional events are great, so are the car shows and the cruises, but the Annual Cruise In at the NCM in Bowling Green is awesome! And you get three or four days, not just one day of awe!
This year will be Cruise In VI!
Every one has been unique and every one has been memorable!
The true essence of Vette ownership is not trophies at a show or the winning time at the drag strip or a good run at an auto X or on a dyno!
It is associating with fellow Vette owners and sharing the spirit and comaraderie!
Point me, if you will to the Mazda Rx Museum , or the Datsun or the Thunderbird or the Viper or the BMW or the Porche museum! Or the Ferrari Museum!
Please give me explicit directions because if they exist, they may not be visible from the road!
Why is there a Corvette Museum? Because of the people who own them! Which brings me back to why you might want to attend a Cruise In! To associate with and share experiences with fellow owners!
Okay, part of the problem with Cruise In Attendance is that the Museum has a lot of "weekends"! So why should you attend this weekend?
First, from a logistical standpoint, it is the best! Take off from work on Wednesday and get a full six days vacation!
Second, share the event with people you have developed a kinship with over the Forum...not just peple you don't know who happen to own the same year or model you do.
Nothing against the other weekends, but at CI you make friendships you can not only take home, but friendshios you can keep alive, everyday if you want, over the Corvette Forum! Where else can you go and do that?
Sure there are "holes in the road"! Maybe everything isn't perfect! Wendell always seems to run out of Spaghetti on Friday nights and the auto X track isn't Sebring But hey, life is shared experiences and some of the best shared experiences I have had involve sharing things that didn"t always go well! And sometimes the choice of road trips leaves you wondering if the Museum shouldn't have turned the planning over to AAA! But some of the best laughs we have had over a beer at the Baymont involve those trips!
But at the end of the day,,,sitting in front of the Baymont, devouring Roscoe's great food and enjoying the company of friends...life doesn't get any better than that! Oh yea, there's beer too! And you know what Ben franklin said about beer and God's love!
Maybe it is just me, but Memorial Day weekend at the Cruise in is the best there is!
If you agree, let's talk it up. Not just here or in National Events, but everywhere you go on the Forum! And talk it up every day!
So far the Ratpackers I know are attending are me, George and Vicky, James and Melissa, Leo and Steve and Julie...any others?
Let's get busy folks, like freedom, if you don't work to keep it...you loose it! Let's work hard to keep the Cruise Ins! Or we will loose them!

Let me think CathDoc, is that the lap dance king??
Jack,
I agree with you. I have never had as much fun as the Cruise In. The little road trips into the country and the self made trips coming back to the hotels. AWESOME!! Remember that nice twisty road we took back from the Winery?? I was the leader in the GS and that first curve was great but the next two were even better.
I feel almost like a MasterCard commercial because like you said the memories are priceless.
I think I'll be there on Wednesday for the plant tour and waiting on the rest of the long haulers to show up, 1 hour 10 minutes here!!
everyone soon to at the Museum and at the Baymont.

Let's see. let's make this challenge from SMC fair
Each attendee from the SMC group will count one point! Since the Ratpack has to travel three times further, each ratpack attendee will be worth three points!
Sounds fair to me!

Jack,
I think this was the time when you were doing your famous "Parking Lot Dance" and new forum names appeared, Miss Piggy, Stumbles, etc... Must have been the flow from that little trailer which inspired it all.

Then we will come back and maybe do the Nascar track thing or just sit around the Baymont and help to drain that black trailer before it springs a leak

Not sure if its ok to post in this thread. I'm sure its an inside reference of some kind but what is a Ratpacker?
I tried to attend a CI here in Florida one year but it was rained out. Do most people trailer their Vette to BG or do they actually drive them there? I'd be hesitant that the car would break down.
