Default StuzVette Wheel Well Insulated (many pics)

STANGKILLER18 and I insulated the interior and I was impressed...

Last Night I finished the insulation of the Rear Wheel Wells...
...and the job of insulating is not finished until the rear wheel wells are done

Even the exhaust sounds are quieter with the windows up...
test on brick roads and railroad tracks...

Amazingly...virtually no sounds from the rear compartment...

I have a link here to view the installation with notes...

Thank you Stuart for the great photo tutorial. I did the inside with frost king and then even got the new sound proofing material GM is using in the C6 and many of its other cars but still have noise from the wheel wells. Now that you have provided such good instructions I will work on the the wheel wells this weekend.

Have a great day one and all.

You think the modding is bad right now?! I have Thursday and Friday off from school all next semester.....Just wait to see what i can do with four day weekends!! Yes, that's true we used my car as a test for the frost king, but it's something i had been considering...AND we tested on Stuzvette for the wheel wells!

Thanks...
...This certainly isnt one of your run of the mill mods...

Actually, even though my exhaust is pretty loud...
...the reduction in road noise most people experience could be even more greatly appreciated by this mod...
...I can say unequivocally it is worth it...

BTW the entire cost of insulating the Wheel Wells...
2 rolls of Frost King - $30
1 partial roll of R-13 insulation...$5
...I discard the tar with the tar backed paper batting...
I use only the glass for insullating the fuel tank filler cavity

Total cost $35 (best of cheapest mods ever in StuzVette)
