Default 600mi On New GM GoodWrench 350/4spd Trans...

Been driving my '75 around about 600mi in the last couple of weeks. Would have like to have been able to drive it even more, but we've been getting quite alot of rain. I don't mind if I'm on my way home from a show or cruise-in and it rains, I just don't go out to "cruise" when it IS ALREADY RAINING That new 350ci 260hp 4 bolt main motor is super smooth. Best $1187 I've ever spent. Transmission with it's problems resolved too with that new Hurst Competition Plus shifter is silky smooth. Can't wait til the long haul shows like Bloomington & Carlisle, and especially Cruise-In VI

Congrats. I have never understood why people poo-poo that Mexican engine. Dependable as heck with a GM three-year warranty. If you just want to cruise/drive that is the 350 to buy.

It was a sale that Jim Pace Pontiac in Niles, Ohio was having last year around this same time. That dealership is very performance oriented-their parts showroom reminds me of Summit Racing in Akron, Ohio.

I have the same motor in mine with 3500 miles. What a difference!!! I added the Performer intake and 600 cfm Edelbrock carb. and a little stronger cam and it does real well. Added a new rear-end and housing from Fast Corvette, talk about hooking up. Plan on adding better heads and 5-speed this winter. Just can't leave it alone.

I have one from October 2000, has about 30k on it. 241 rwhp / 283 rwtq. It's enough to make me grin a little. AFR cyl heads and 216/216 cam. Hits 5500 rpm at least once a week.

I think I want one of those $1200 GM long blocks. No, I need one. That's about all I can afford now that I've shot most of my wad on the rear end. Anyone know where I can get one?

Any GM dealer should be able to get it for ya. Sallee-Chevrolet sells some with a nice cam installed from the factory. Just check yahoo.

Also, paceparts.com should have one.
