[QUOTE=tome]Wrong, there is an installer in Anaheim Hills, Ultimate Auto and they did a fantastic job on my C6. $600 and worth it. The cleartastic saved me this morning, large piece of rubber hit the front, and I just wiped off the mark.[/QUOTE
Do you have a phone number for them? Thanks

So, as much as I don't want chips in the paint, I will simply enjoy the car as it is and keep it as clean as I can and not stress over the inevitable.
That's my two cents.

I have the clear bra on my C-6 for about two months now and I would not be without it. It cost me $650.00 and i had it done by an installer who came to my house in Sun City, CA.....I had the front, upper and lower , the headlights and the fog lights done, not the mirrors, the hood or behind the wheels....If you are in the area, i would be glad to show it to you...

I have 3m on my vette front all the way mirrors rocker panels half the hood light color cars you can't really tell... black you can I have the carlyle blue gs I love it so easy to clean. I have seen it though on cars that drive everyday the dust will build up on the edges of the rocker panels. 3m gives a 5 year warranty if the dealer is certified. I would not drive without it worth every penny I got mine for half price because friend owns the shop its about 800 he did mine for 400 and the the tint for a 100. he has been in the business along time

Did it once - wont do it again. In my case, overtime/miles it started getting banged up...to me, it started looking like crap... PITA to remove... not for me.

I'm not a fan, but living in this crappy desert area, there're debris everywhere, and it's windy half the time. Skipped it on the M3, and the front bumper was destroyed by 5K miles. Cost me almost as much as a full clear-bra job to repaint it, and it look horrible after only 1K miles. Learned my lesson than even the 'best' paint job is going to be crap compared to factory. So bit the bullet and paid $1,300 to get the new GS all front done, plus mirrors, rockers, headlights, and rear brake ducts. It's the better compromise IMO, at least where I live. It wasn't easy to justify, but I'll do it in all my future nice cars. Only locally. Made the mistake to hire an out-of-town installer. It wasn't the best job to begin with. And once he's gone, you're on your own. So I won't do that again. I'd definitely do at least the bumper and headlights/fogllights, which are the most vulnerable areas. I might do that in the future, depending on the car. That's an easier pill to swallow, and a better value for your money. Good luck.

I bought my clear bra online for 39.00 and installed it myself at home. This is the second corvette I have done. The first was my C5 and it worked and held up very well. The install trick is to use a heat gun and be very patient. There are still some small bubbles that will work out in time. It's only been on a week and the sun has yet to shine since install. it's worth it if you want to actually drive your car and want to save the paint. mine's got some dings but the paint underneath is fine. will never be without one, on whatever car or truck i buy, in the future.

When I went to acquire some of the 3M material I was surprised to find 3M no longer produces the film due to warranty issues so that makes me wonder what material the installer is quoting you for?

I can't find LS Won's original post that was quoted in post 4 but I agree.

Radiator looked like crap on my 08 when I traded it in for my 11 GS. Clear bra was also easily scratched from regular cleaning. Definitely not worth $1k. Repaint the front bumper is not a good option either which is why I wanted to trade in my AO 08 to start with (road gator hit it).

I've been using clear protection on all my vehicles for years. Well worth the $ if you don't like scratches and chips. You cannot see it unless you are on top of it. 99% of the people that look at my vehicles NEVER see it. Just remember that the installer is the key. Expel Ultimate is the best out there now....had my new CTS done with it this spring....JUST DO IT.
