You know this is just going to start another Aluminum vs. Stainless Steel debate.

Where is Brian from bttech?….

[QUOTE=30yeardream] Technical Data and hard Facts on the Backbone...

Does this absorb, deflect, or dissipate the heat?

[QUOTE=30yeardream] Weight 12 3/4 Lbs
What doe the stock piece weigh?

[QUOTE=30yeardream] Resonance tested On Car in operation By Forum Member/Mechanic
Before install (Stock Plate) 23 Hrtz
After install (Backbone) 21 Hrtz

How was that done? There are several methods but many factors change the resonances by various amounts such as temperature, dimensions, heat treatment etc. And, after all is said and done, what would a 2 hertz change be comparable to? Like stiffer sway bars?

[QUOTE=30yeardream] Nasa Factor of Safety Tested Cosmos Software

What does this mean in the application sense of this product? I mean, will even the lowest number withstand a launch into outer space without failure - or does this indicate that after 100 cycles the material takes a "set" and is permanently distorted

[QUOTE=30yeardream] Thermal Tested Console temp infrared heat thermometor ambient temp of day was 80 degrees
Prior to install 99 degrees 1 hour Run/Drive time
After install 73 Degrees 1 hour Run/Drive time

Wow, this alone makes it worth it!

Can you quantify this somehow? Have you tried, as an example, jacking behind the left front tire and measuring the distance delta before the rear tire raises – or better a diagonal distance or weight measurement?

Sorry to ask so many questions...

Sorry, this is not final until you do the SAME testing on the aluminum part and post the results. You are only half-baked.

Sempi,
I do not offer the aluminum nor will I.... Therefore these are my Final results for my Plate. My results are information only for the VNM Backbone If you desire to get info on the competitors then contact them. As I have always stated all of these plates weather Aluminum or S/S work as described and I dont percieve to make any further claims above what my testing results on The BackBone reveal. If there is an Independant person or persons who want to make comparitive testing side by side then please be my guest. The rsonance has a baseline now so if there is a person with the Aluminum plate installed in the Conneticutt area they should see the mechanic who did the testing for a comparison. I offer only The VNM product.

No there are too many variables to take the time to do this. you need stock Vehicles with stock suspensions to compare and like vs.like Coupe Base vs.Coupe base Z06 vs Z06 There is enough of the private testing and comments on these threads to proovide ample decision making processes. Most we have installed already have a suspension mod in place of some type. I will keep this inmind though when a bone stock vehicle next comes in for install and maybe try this.
