Default clock stuck on military time...anyone know how to change it?

my C6 is two weeks old now......and--fortunately--the only problem i've had is very minor....but it's bugging me: the clock has always been on military time and i can't figure out how to switch it to 12hr format

i got the 1SB option package, and did not get the NAV......

it's NOT covered in the manual, the CD or the DVD, and my dealer can't figure it out either.....

anyone know how to switch it?

I think TedG knows how to do this.

ok....i've got the answer

(guess it wasn't that widespread of a problem, but just in case anyone else has it, here's the cure...plus, now everyone knows what the manual didn't cover)

to cycle back and forth from 12hr to 24hr:

start the engine
turn on the radio
push & hold the "H" or "M" button for 5 seconds or so (until it beeps)
then push the **** that controls base/treble/etc. (each time you push this **** it toggles the hours setting)

pretty simple.....but, like i said, it is NOT covered in the owner's manual, the cd or the dvd

kudos to Larry Danduran at New Rockford Chevy, and another of his customers who figured out the answer...

Are there any other undocumented things people have found?

We should probably start a separate topic for it.

Scissors has an FAQ thread. Don't know how much of it is in the manual and how much isn't.

Here's the link

I've only set the time on mine once and it didn't seem to work exactly like the owner's manual says.

The manual says to press the H OR the M button to enter clock mode (not both as you indicated above). Then it says to press and hold H until the correct hour appears on the display. Then press M until the minutes are correct.

However mine gave me a beep and a message on the display saying, "Adjust Clock" and I had to press the H or M button again to set the time in the middle of the display, not the actual time on the right of the display. When you're through, just stop pressing any buttons and the clock at the right of the display will update with the time you've set in the middle of the display.

RDS is the radio system, so RDS time is simply the RDS system keeping the time, evidently.

Sorry, I should have mentioned that I had the engine running when I set the time on my car. The owner's manual doesn't say anything about whether or not that's required.

You have to join the military now and drive your vette on base. This way your clock will match with the military time.

Worked at Arnold AF Base here for 36.5 years. Still keep my wristwatch in 24-hr time. Thinking about doing it with my C6 clock.

05 Chevrolet Corvette Radio Clock Reads In Military Time with RPO (US8) or RPO (US9)
.

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom described in the PI.

Condition/Concern:
Some customers may state that the clock reads in 24 hour time (military time) on vehicles equipped with the RPO US8 or US9 radios.

Recommendation/Instructions:
If the customer wishes to switch between military time and the 12 hour clock., please follow the following procedure:

Press and hold the hours button for 2-3 seconds.
Turn the radio tuner **** left or right to toggle between military time and regular time. Turn the tuner **** to the desired setting and let go of **** for 30 seconds for the change to occur.
Note: The Navigation radio (RPO U3U) can be changed from military time to regular time by accessing the clock menu.

You're not supposed to turn the radio tuner button, you're supposed to press it. One place you said you turned it - one place you said you pressed it. Which one did you do?

Give us the entire instructions that you used.

And please don't retrieve 8 year old threads - start a new one.
