C6.5 - Front View Alternative?
Enthusiasts,
There are many indifferences about the front view appearance and with the addition of front plate brackets it gets less attractive (most of us would not even consider putting front plates). With the cat-eye lamps, the nose badge, and the large open duct gives the feeling it is smiling at you as it passes by. I for one would prefer my machine to have that 'mean' look to intimidate any competition, so I say give you support and input for an alternative. Where the factory ends their commitment, the aftermarket begins theirs (other colors and angle shots TBD based on input) - Innovation with an open mind and insight is necessary.

The only problem is the testy aero engineer who did most of the work on the C6 insists they need all that cross sectional area for the LS 2 to get enough air. Actually, I'm not sure if it's about the LS2 or the LS7.....I'm assuming if it was just about the LS7 they could come up with a different fascia. Apparently the C5 was much more of a bottom breather than the C6.....I've forgotten the numbers but I'm sure it's posted here somewhere.

Great work, and from the front, I'm impressed. However, would need to see how it works out in a 45 degree or 90 degree angle. How would the front work blend in with the overall design... Looks a little like the Ferrari 360 front ends grafted on by others, but not as extreme... Looks a LOT less like a Camaro!
Would need to see more, but fantastic effort!
By the way, I like the current C6 front end. I just appreciate creativity!

Great. So even guys in states that don't require a front plate, or those who choose not to run one, will be stuck with a plate holder.

I think my words speak for themselves, so please do not attempt to twist them to match your point.
All C4's and C5's had an integrated front plate that molded to the body and didn't significantly disrupt airflow or the lines of the nose. Every single one of them.
So yeah, I guess buyers were "stuck" with that, just like they were stuck with 4 wheels, headlights, doors....all sorts of crazy stuff!

I think it looks much better but basically it really does just look like a C5 with different headlights now.
Someone post a C5 and that photo from the same angle. I think they will be pretty much the same.
I want to say more but then all the C6 owners will get upset. But here you really have a C5 with new headlights. I LOVE corvettes i just can't see me ever warming up to the C6. I really want to though. This looks better but it is more C5ish that the factory.

2. Were you implying that the C4 and C5 are without styling fault or compromise?
3. Your words, being sarcasm, by definition did not speak for themselves.

Allow me to explain:
I feel that the C4 and C5 compromised the front end styling by installing a built-in location for the front plate. Higher-cost manufacturers do not do this, such as Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Porsche. This results in compromised front styling for those of us who are either in states that don't require front plates, or who choose not to run with front plates, resulting in a less attractive front end, IMHO.
Please explain why you felt the need to reply back with a caustic remark and much rolling of the eyes in response to what is my own opinion of the styling compromise?

Modena type fascia
I was recently looking through the latest issue of corvette magazine . I spotted and ad with a Corvette with a Modena Style front fascia.
Wondering if anybody saw this ? There is a picture of it on the website www.procarparts.com look under gallery and the pic is there.
I know the car is a C5 but maby something like that might look nice on the C6.
anyways just thought I would throw that out there...here the opinions.
