Elise Shows up at Phila. Autox
An Elise showed up at the Phila. SCCA event this past weekend. Here is a link to a thread about it: http://www.sccaforums.com/ubb/ultima...p/topic/2/1435
And this is a Vette Killer?

Got a ride in one today at the local autocross by a national caliber driver. It had the sport package and he was running the tires that came on it, whatever they are. It will be a very potent weapon.
BTW, if you saw one 3-4 years ago it had about 130HP. The new ones have 190 (Toyota Celica GTS engine.)

Safety Car
It's just another one of them there funny looking foreign jobs. Inevitably doomed to bow down to the feet of the mighty Corvette.
I often wonder why other car companies even try and out do us.

I do believe they will be in SS, but what is the PAX index on this car? One of our local AutoX guys just got his as well. It'll be at the next event and likely to set TTD.

Sure wish one would show up at the Texas region SCCA. Can't wait to spank another "cute little car". As far as the SS class goes, if it ain't a Z06, you lose...............

It's not "pruple" It's almost the same candy red as the Metallic Red C5. Probably a little darker. It's Bordeaux Red Pearl.
Secondly, what's with all the bashers? They didn't make this car to beat the Vette. They brought this car here because of high demand from people that get the car and fell in love with it. This car has been around since 96 and there's NO Vette's in Europe. So obviously they're not competing.
Thirdly, on a tight course this car WILL beat a Z06. If there's enough straights then forget it. The car is an amazing car and for what it's worth it's badge is worth 10x that of a in coolness, prestige, and exotic level. To some that's all that matters.
Vette owners should embrace the competition.

It has a TOYOTA engine. Prestige? Exotic?

Wow I actually like that car a lot and am really looking forward to seeing what it is capable of. However if that message board is representative of most Elise owners to hell with 'em arrogant ******.
