I use ALTO digital amplifiers. They are small to fit in car and doesnt make much of heat. Also they deliver a good power.
I use ALTO ADP 150M on subs, in mono. It is rated 150W RMS 4 ohms.

To front ADP 204, 4x50W.

Sound is really good and it got lower bass also. I have cutted under 30Hz with digital sound processor.

I dont know about square *s.

I don't see why a Square 8 would not work, not sure how much room on the mounting plate there would be..

Here is a couple pictures of mine

What other pictures would you like, I have some but not many..

My Current system until yesterday was:
REAR:
- two 8" Kicker CompVRs

Front
- two Boston Acoustic 5.25"
- two Boston Acoustic 4"
- two Boston Acoustic Tweeters

Headunit:
- Eclipse 5303

Amps:
- Phoenix Gold Ti500.4 ( powering all the Bostons) 75W x 4 @ 4 ohms
- Orion HCCA 225 (powering the 8s) 25W x2 @ 4 ohms

The 8s are DVC and I have each VC on the woofer in series for an 8 ohm load then both Parallel to the Amp for a 4ohm Load. The orion is in a Mono config and puts out 100W x1 @ 4 ohms at 12v (if my calculation are right)

I know I could run all the VC in Parallel for a 2ohm mono load to the HCCA but that might be a bit much for the amp causing it to work a bit hard even though the HCCA can handle it.

The 8s sound good as they are now, Bass is not as low as having 10s or bigger but for the stealthly mount I like them. I may swap to JL Audios at some point, but the Kickers are fine for me right now.

I am also in the Midst of changing the Amps. I sold my Ti500.4 as it was physically too big in size for my liking.. I had it on the back wall but it was a pain to adjust anything, now it is on the floor and I just don't like it there.

I have a Second 225 HCCA that will power all of the fronts. I am using the Passive crosovers for the 4"and tweet ( came withthe set, and I have a LP for the 5.25 at 300Hz and a HP at 300HZ for the 4". I will use FMODs or my A/D/S 642CSi X-over for both Amps until I decide if I want a newer Active X-over or a new radio with the X-over built in.

Currently the Plates for the 8" are made from 1/2 MDF, the on in the picture is 3/4" Plywood, I used that as a Template. I may remake the Plates out of 3/4" Plywood or MDF some day as well.

sounds good. i bet if you had top of the line square 8s they would sound a lot better than a lot of cheaper lower grade 10s and maybe even hit almost as low. I think for some of those really high end 8s you can put over 200w to each.

Yep I would tend to agree.. Now I know I am underpowering my 8s a little. I think when I rebuild the Plates I will rewire them to get more from the HCCA amp that will be pushing them.

Even though I am going to a lower power amp for my fronts, I still think it will sound good..

Last year I was running an a/d/s PH12 (23 W x 6) for everything but had 6s instead of the 8s

i looked at subs online and those kicker S7s can take a LOT of wattage! im sure they would puch some serious sound! looks like some of the top of the line stuff. i really think iam going to try and mount square 8s in there and have a huge sub push them. i was going to hold off quite a bit but my roomate just got his 10s in his 1500 and im jealous. i want nice full sound like that when i listen to music now.
