Default carb jet problem

My friend has a 355 with 11.5 to 1, dart 202 heads, comp solid lift 540 lift 292 dur. victor jr intake and has a holley 780 with 70 jets does any one have a idea where he should start with the jet size. Car needs more gas now plugs are gray.

Usually when performance tuning carbs they say to start with jets two sizes bigger and go from there. My local Qjet guru says carbs are like black magic - you can have two carbs set up the same and they will behave differently on the same engine. Thats what makes carb tuning fun!

they can, the strangest one was a holley i tuned for a 289
that was "WARM" pulled it and put it on a warm 351C and it was
