Default 80 Rear Deck T-Top Carrier (where to buy?)

When I purchased my 80 I found out that the holes in the rear deck (around gas cap) are for an optional T-top carrier. Since then I've only seen one vette that still had these.

Has anyone seen them for sale and (if so) where can I buy? I need the room behind the seats for more than just the tops.

Thanks...

Good Luck. I've looked for these for years. They're out there, but rare as hen's teeth and extremely expensive. They are made of plastic and it's rare to find a pair which are not broken or cracked.

I have seen these on E-bay from time to time. They are hard to find and can be spendy. I know I wouldn't strap my T-tops to the exterior of my car and head down the road with those. But if you want them, they are out there.

Default Replacement t-top carriers

Their is one person who makes replacement one that will use the holes you have on the carrier. He can be found at www.vettespecialties.com I purchased a set at Christmas time and I like the way they work.

Hey, 80s have the big back glass. The coupe shown in your link is a tunnel back. Different set up altogether.

They do come up on ebay relatively often. I've seen them go for $150 - $400.

What search description do they usually come up under? "80 corvette top strap"?

Please let me know if anyone ever sees an auction with them... for some reason I keep missing.

Also, I just got off the phone with Willcox Corvette...they are doing a market search and I'll post the results for anyone interested.

Thanks,

Ed

I have found them by typing in "Corvette T-tops" and "Corvette Glass" if that helps. I saw a set of those carriers on there a few weeks ago but I don't remember what they went for.
