Cutting springs part 2 of ??
Hey another stupid question. Is their and up or down on these springs? It looks like on one end the coils are closer together, I assume this is the bottom end. Need to know before I cut the springs.

I am thinking about the VB&P f/r springs. I have 2 concerns. First I want springs a little softer than VB&P #460. I am also concerned about getting too low. This is my only car and must be easy to drive on the streets. What about cutting a 1/2" off stock springs. What rate would they be? On the rear, do I go w/300, 315 or 330? I really want to keep this a balanced comfortable ride. Any thoughts? TIA

Too both. Your stock springs are 260ft/lbs. by me removing 7/8's coil I'm somewhere in the mid 300's ft/lb. range. I cut from the bottom as I do not want to disturb the flat "foot" (the flat coil on top which makes contact with the upper A-arm spring pocket. The bottom will not matter as much due to the coils are more exaggerated anyway and the pocket is deeper. Last night I finished cutting and painting the coils with VHT flex agent gloss black. Looks

Hope you resolve your front suspension woes soon.

Dave, I gotta ask ... why 7/8 coil and not just 1 coil ?
