Default OOPS! I hope that carb line wasn't tooooo important.

Ok well I have been dissassembling my engine to change cam. While I was dissassembling the carb from the intake manifold there were two hard lines that went from the carb directly into the intake manifold. One of the lines just slid out easy and the other one I tryed to slide out and it broke. The lines actually go through the bottom of the intake manifold into the head and make a loop. Does anyone know what they do and if I can find replacement lines.

No big deal. That's for your choke (that's how your choke gets hot). You can get that tube in junk yards or change over to electric choke (which I did).

EGR valve. if you are not interested in emmissions then take the two pipes out of the intake and either weld up the holes and replace the plate on the intake or buy a egr valve block off plate from summit. pull the lines off the carb and plug the holes but you will not pass emmissions without them. if you have to have them then a parts house (napa or other high quality) should have them.

Those tubes are for the "hot air" style choke. One starts at the top of the carb for the air inlet- travels down through the intake manifiold where the air gets heated, and then goes into the choke housing, where the heated air causes the choke to open.

I have a couple of those tubes I restored (painted silver), but will not be using since the Performer RPM heads I put on, do not have the opening in the head to accept the tubes.

If you can not find any replacements locally, let me know, and we can work something out.

You can probably make one out of 3/16" brake line if you have a tubing bender. Joe

Those choke tubes are still available from GM I believe. If you get desperate I believe I have a set in the basement.
