Just out of curiosity...how much is this tach worth?
I have a NOS '68 (I think) tachometer. It's still in the box, but it has been opened. Its an AC brand, part number 1-6468712. The reverse side of the tach has this number, stamped in blue ink, on it several times. It looks to have been hand stamped until a legible stamping was attained. It has a redline of 6500. The face is black with VERY pale green numbering/lines. The needle is orange with a chrome hub. The nubers are embossed from behind as the outlines are CLEARLY visible from the back.
What would this have been used in? An L88?

The tach could be for a 68-69 435 tripower or 430 L88, a 70-71 LT1, or a 71 LS6.
Advertise in Hemmings or try ebay. It will be worth a lot if someone with one of these cars needs one.
