Default Fiberglass Bonding Adhesive

Anyone out there used the bonding adhesive for attaching body parts? I'm having trouble estimating how much hardener to use. Any ideas? I'm in Arizona and the temperatures are over 100. Does temp. affect setting time that much?

What kind of adhesive? There are many types and brands. The answer to the last question is yes, heat very much affects set up time. With polyester material anything over 85 deg. or so will go off like a handgranade, so it is almost unusable in hot weather. You didnt give any details so we have to make assumptions. There is a difference in what bonding agent you need depending on the year and type of fiberglass. Most epoxy based compounds can be used on all types of glass and can be adjusted to handle the heat. So I would recomend one of those for any application when its near 100 deg.

Default Eckler's Bonding Adhesive

Thanks for the tips. I've wasted two cans so I appreciate the help. I called Eckler's today and they said not to use it over 90 degrees. No warning on the can and little info on amount of hardener, but they were helpful so I have no problem with them. Just my "learning curve/school of hard knocks". I'll remember to do it better next time. Any more recommendations still needed. Looks like I wait for "fall" in Phoenix (Sept/Oct).
