Default My steerin column is SHOT. ?ssss

Okay My steering column is UGLY and it needs the ragjoint, and the dimmer switch ect. I was kinda wanting to just get a billet column and steering wheel, all of mine are bad. Where do you get those and does anyone else have one. What are all my options? Does somebody on this board rebuild them?

I called them and they don't have anything after 68. Could I put a non telescopic steering column in there. I know not just anything would fit??

Try this site www.corvettesteering.com I bought my tilt/tele column for my 74 from them. You'd have to ask about billet though...

That 68 Corvette column will fit and the turn signal wiring will work. The problem would be the ignition switch. You could use it depending on how custom your interior is. 69-76 Tilt-n-tele columns bring a premium on Ebay. Probably $250 in rebuildable shape although I haven't priced any lately. You can also use later (78-82) columns, the dimmer is on the stalk. It is a little shorter and a bit less expensive. See www.corvettefaq.com for a retrofit on those. I have a decent straight column from a 71 that I would trade you, but I think I'd come out ahead.

What is the difference in a 71 and an 80? I don't care about telescopic. Would a 76 fir an 80?
