Default Need Help Confirming Bad Wiper Motor

Hey folks, my wipers aren't working at all, first it was intermittent, now nothing. I checked power at the connector, and nothing has power. So I know there's another problem somewhere else in the system. But I tried to give the wiper motor itself power, so I supplied 12v to the bottom terminal. The wipers slowly moved up a couple inches, then stopped. I helped them a bit, and they slowly moved about another half inch. Then I supplied power to the middle terminal, and the wipers slowly went back down. I'm thinking the motor is bad. What do you guys think?

Remember to hang on to the front cover---new /rebuilds usually don't come with the cover

Good luck

I searched around, Ecklers wants $149 for a new unit, Riks Vet wants $99 for a rebuild, and I'm a cheapskate, so I'm going with Riks. www.riksvet.com

Gonna give it another try on Wednesday. The light blue wire is loose on mine. Gotta figure out where it goes. No power to motor though.

Ecklers has the 72 Motor for $99.99 as well. I just like everything to work.

BTW, the last time I had used them was two years ago and everything was fine. Needed them on the way home from a show last month and to my surprise they did not work.

Check the grounds for the wiper motor and the heater fan before you buy another motor. Mine did the same thing and it was just a bad ground

Where are the grounds located? The wiper motor has a connector with 3 wires, none of them are a ground, but it has a seperate terminal about 2 inches below the connector, and it's a black wire, I'm assuming ground. I supplied the motor with a new ground, and still nothing. My heater fan does stay on low for some reason though... Maybe that has something to do with it... Are the grounds connected?
