Trans swap - why take apart yoke?
Seems I remember reading some trans swap's to 5/6 speeds where guys refer to using a take apart yokes and wonder why can't you just remove the drive shaft from the diff end? Isn't it take apart yoke on that end?

I did a tremec swap about a month ago and the guy didn't have the take apart yoke. I just took the yoke and polished it with a slapper wheel in my die grinder so the universal would effortlessly tap in with a small rubber/brass hammer and assemblied it in the car without the least bit of problem.
In future I would forget about the take apart yoke.

Yup. Can you say "No frigging room"? I knew you could.
Tell ya though Chris. THere's SO much room under there, I had no problems whatsover putting the u-joint in under the car.

I don't have a take-apart yoke on my 700r4. I was able to slide it in without one, but it would have been easier with one. It is a pretty tight area to work in and some cars might not have that little bit of extra room.
