Default Soldier in Kuwait needs help in Ohio

I'm in Kuwait currently serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom. I'm interested in purchasing a 1977 350 automatic. The car is for sale in Lima, Ohio. Is there anyone that would be able to inspect this car for me? The owner doesn't seem to know much about the car.

Here is a photo.

I'm interested in answers to the common questions one ask when looking to purchase a C3. Is there frame rot? Bushings look good? Tread wear even? Body repairs? Things in working order? Sounds?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

~Brad

Thank you, everyone, for your willingness to help. Thank you for taking your time for me. It's because of people like you that make me feel much better about being here. The support I've been getting from home has been exceptional.

Since cw823 lives in Lima and was first to reply I'll ask him to check the car out. Thanks again for your patriotism. :flag

I will take my digital camera as well. Do you have an limits on how large an attachment you can receive Red_Shift? As well as an account size limit on your email? I figure anything "good", or "bad" I"ll snap a pic of.

My sister and brother in law are out of the Marine Corps....both of them Arabic linguists that "subcontract" for several Washington DC companies. He makes trips overseas quiet often, though is never allowed to say exactly where he's headed.

Can't help with the car either, here in Texas, almost as hot as Iraq this time of year. Thanks for your service. Good luck on the car.

I did 16 months in Iraq. Just got back 2 weeks ago. Kuwait's nothing but cake and ice cream. This your first Vette purchase? I can answer about any question for ya.

Am going to see the car Weds. afternoon around 11am EST. Will take my digital with me and take tons of pics....then I'll sort out the good ones when I get done.

Won't be the same as driving my 4-speed, though.

Love to see this. I used the same method when buying the 68 vert. Make sure to check all VIN's and verify the frame condition looking for prior accident damage. Good luck shipmate. :flag

Chad, once again thanks for all of your help. I'm allowed 50MB of email storage space and I try to keep it mostly empty. So send as many photos as you like. The more the better.

Derrick, Kuwait is cake and icecream you are correct. Except for where I'm at. After my unit leaves in Dec I'm looking to volunteer to go to Iraq. No I already own a 75 coupe, but if I have any questions I'll shoot them your way.

Arifjan's kind of cool, huh Brad?! I have some whiskey still buried in the sand over close to Arlington. About 7 bottles.

Man I could use some of that. I've been dry for about 8 months now. I'm not in Arifjan, I'm in Camp Buehring most haven't heard of. :flag

Can't wait to have a big party when I get back.
