Headers and Side Pipes for under $500???
Here we go again
76 L-48 here...and in need of some headers and side pipes. I am looking to fall in under $500 for the entire job. My problem is, others on the forum have recommended the JC Whitney side pipes which I would be fine going with. How do I determine which headers will fit up to these? I have asked around a few local exhaust shops, and nobody can tell me if they would be able to custom bend something without seeing the pieces first. I would love to find a "bolt on" job I could do myself. Any tips???? Please!!!!

Quite a few people, including myself, use these headers:
Dynomax Ceramic Coated Headers
Those JC Whitney sidepipes are universal, which means there is no option for direct bolt on. Any good exhaust shop should be able to fab a pipe to run from the pipes to the headers.

You could also go factory style for $360 for the pipes (ebay) and $300 for the covers (just about anywhere). total $660+ shipping = $160 over budget but looks and sounds great?

How do these compare to the Hooker - these are about 1/2 the price?
thanks

I wish I used them when I put my side pipes on.

How was the install? What about plugs, wires and the A/C bracket? Those would keep me in budget!!!
