where does the connector from the back up switch hook up in the car? my wiring diagram isnt helping. thanks in advance

Automatic is at the shifter, pull the top of the console and you can sort of get to it. Manual is on the transmission side cover. Wire comes through the firewall to it I think.

Under the console, next to the shifter( at least that's on my '71 auto)

According to your profile, the switch itself is mounted on the side of the tranny. It has a two wires coming off of it and goes toward the engine compartment up the firewall. About halfway up the firewall there will be an L shaped connector. This goes inside the car. The connect from the tranny should be connected at this point.

thanks guys. i got it in finally and had to do some searchign for the green/pink wires inside the car they were cut and taped off next to the radio stupid bubba
