Default when do you shift

Every since I started racing Spec Miata's I have figured out that I am a shifting weeny in my street car. I normally shift at about 2000-2500 rpms in my 68 with a 327/300 motor. When do most of you guys shift. I would assume somewhere closer to the yellow then that. Thanks.

Regular driving - generally around 4K (3.70 gear, stock LT-1 engine redlines at 6.5K). Having fun - generally between 5K and 6K.

normal driving around 3500...getting on it I usually stay just below 5k...the difference is usually in how far to the floor the gas pedel is, not where I am shifting...

I usually shift to R to get out the garage and into the street, then to D to get going.

Mayberg, there's my problem, I have never used the R before. I always wondered why I had a garage door that opended on one side and just a big hole on the other side.

I normally shift at about 2000-2500 rpms
Normally this is where I shift. When playing around 4500-5000. Never run it too hard.

When just driving around I usually shift between 3000-3500. When driving it "hard" I'll shift around 5000-5200.

If I'm in a hurry, I shift at 7000.
