Default 700r4

my th 350 is about dead in my 78. i went and bought what i was told was a used th350 but when i got there it was a 700r4 it was in good shape and i got it for 50 $ i know i have to get the driveshaft shortened but im not sure how much. my friend is helping me do the swap and he says all the cooling lines, speedo cables etc will work from my old th350. what about the tv cable? i think its totally different from my old "downshift" cable from the th.what will i have to do and how much will i have to spend aside from the new fluid , seals , and the driveshaft work? also, what about the torque converter lockout wiring? is there a wiring harness on the 350 i can use on the 700? im using the converter thats already on the 700r4. any info i can get would be much appreciated. let me know if its better to just find another th 350 and do a direct bolt switch, i plan to have a tremec 5 speed in it someday anyway.

IF you are in that much love with an eventual 5 speed, just do a 350 transplant for now, or rebuild/toss in a kit with what you have....not worth the time/effort/expense just to change a bunch of crap around yet again......

it's major BS to do it....

The TV cable is the thing that makes or breaks the trans. Take your time and do it right and it will be fine. I put the 200-4R in mine.trans swap

I have the 700R4 in mine, and would never go back
in time with a 350 hydro. you would be so much happier
with the swap. bowtieoverdrives will help you with the
tv cable. DON'T BE AFRAID OF IT!!!!

The drive shaft needs to be 25.5 center to center
good luck
