For those that like to fly....

The ad doesn't mention anything about the rear end.. If it's stock - it's a ticking time bomb...

Well, he's running 10's and it's still in one piece.
That's a good sign.

I agree, O, but the guy does say it's NHRA legal "at any track", and it ain't broke using the tranny-brake..... yet!!!!!

(You'd REALLY think the guy would state what rear it has: I.R.S., 9" Ford, Dana 60, etc...)

Here's another fast C3, this one clearly stating it's equipped with a Dana-60 housing:

Fairly 'small' hydes (29X10.5W SLICKS) for a full-chassis car, tho.....
I ran 29" x 11" on my streetable Z28 years ago.
I mean, why spend the dough to run 'half' a tire?

That's a nice car. I like the subtle Motion-like flares. It would be funny if it was an old Baldwin Motion car

Well - for certain classes - the 10.5W tire is the widest tire allowed..

O:
I think in most of those 'certain classes' that has a maximum tire width (NHRA Stck, Super Stock, etc.), they also mandate you run a OEM-style (read I.R.S.) rear-end.

Picture is 'gone' now; musta been sold. Wish I could recall more about that particular Vette, tho; you've got me curious now...

Here's a link, showing pix taken at the U.S. 30 (York, Pa.) Dragway re-union last weekend, showing a pair of very old C3 funny cars on display.....
