OT (slightly)- Timing Light Recommendation?
The dinosaur non-advance unit I had finally flashed its last beam. Wondering what I should consider. This one will definitely have inductive and advance. Have seen one priced at $29.99 at Harbor Freight all the way up to $200+. Since I rarely fiddle with things once its right, looking for a nice budget unit that will sit in a box most of the time. Would appreciate your input. Thanks in advance ('scuse the pun... )

I just bought a real nice one from Matco tools, Electronic with advance AND A TACH!!! I love it
UNTIL JUST NOW!!!!!
Damn...... I'm a mechanic, I saw it on the truck and I needed a Timing light so I took it..... My weekly payments don't really change so i took it..... That Sucker is $239.00..... I went to Matcotools.com to get a picture and saw the price!!!! WOW!!!! well it is very nice and I bought it for the built in tach (one less thing to hook up when setting Idle/Dwell/Timing)
Buy the cheapest Timing light you find WITH Adjustable advance. It will work fine.
Damn!!!

I bought the one for like $69 at Sears. It's chrome, it's craftsman, and it works really good. It's pretty heavy, good quality, and it has a rubber nose on it so it doesn't get beat up if i bump it against something...

Thats what I have. Just clip it on to #1. Nice when the battery is behind the seat...
