Default Interior restoration question

Does anyone know of a company/individual that recovers interior dash pieces with correct vinyl covering? I recently purchased blue left and right side lower dash panels for my '69 and would rather have them recovered than paint them black.

Thanks

Jay

Well, I'm not sure if these local guys do recovering but you can give em a call. They are the premier restoration shops in the Chi-Town area.
D&M Corvettes in Downers Grove (North Ave)
Tri-Power in Libertyville (Peterson Rd)
Corvette City in Highland Pk (Rt41)
I have met the guys that own Tri-Power, and their cars are tops at all NCRS meets. Awsome work!!! If you decide on them....let me know. I live very near by. Vette nuts are always welcome to tip a few in my garage.

Looks like thay dye the part also. Maybe their dye is of better quality or their paint prep might be better than most of us do.

As far as I know, all the dash parts are dyed (painted) since they are a pale, tan color originally. I had good luck with the spray dye on mine. Black should go right over blue...

I don't think it's possible to re-cover them since trying to remove the layer of vinyl will just destroy them. I could be wrong but it just sounds impossible and more costly than a new piece...

Where did you purchase your dye from? I see it listed in Ecklers, Zip, etc. but I also remember a few threads here about Mar-Hyde, SEM and PPG products.

Also, Any place I can look for instructions? I saw an a few articles at the CorvetteFAQ but it seemed to be referring to the hard interior plastic parts.
