I want to re-trim the interior of my '81 and am considering both a stock retrim of the seats and door panels and also a custom job. By a custom job, I don't mean anything really outrageous, just black seats with maybe some grey piping and possibly an '81 emblem stitched into the back of the seat. I would also like the door panels retrimmed in black leather also.
I would like to know what you guys think? I must admit I do like the idea of a really good quality custom job.

I am returning my interior back to stock with the one exception and that would be the radio. That is the way it will be for a while. I also like the idea of a mild custom and the black and with grey piping sounds good to me.

I'm taking mine to stock, then I'll start to personalize it. I bought mine with most of the interior trashed.

The key to a customized interior, is subtlety. I prefer largely stock interiors with lots of small mostly unnoticable changes.

Bought a commercial sewing machine 20 years ago and did my 1969. I'm thinking about doing it again pretty soon...but it still looks pretty good......
