invisible black corvette
I don't know if it's just me but it seem that my black corvette is kind of invisible .I got my vette now for 15 years and found that everywhere i go nobody have seen that car before .Even at vette show the only time i won it was when they have judges. I just got back to a show where it has maybe 10 cars in my 1978-1982 categories and i was perfect in every ways but no luck . I even notice that over half of the visitors did'nt even come see my car so how you want to win if they don't see you . A yellow car won this years and years before they had red, pace car,all kind of color but no black car. Should i paint my car pink to be notice?

The car magazines will almost never shoot a black car in color even if it has tons of color/chrome/billet accesories. It is called resale red for a reason

IMHO, dark cars need chrome accents to set them off. People like the primary colors best, especially guys, who are often color blind and cannot see shades or tints accurately.
Bright red is the #1 favorite, followed by bright/med. blue and bright yellow.
Black looks really good to me on a C-3 with bright, sparkly wheels and chrome side pipes.

I love black cars, but they do need something to make them stand out. That would be polished wheels, chrome bumpers, chrome sidepipes etc. I had the windshield pieces polished and am in the process of polishing the rocker moldings. New chrome mirrors and door handles. I have a set of TTII's going on so the shine should be there.

I've tried to keep my black 80 vette as stock looking as possible. Teenagers seem to notice it when I'm driving. But when I go to a local cruise-in, people might glance at it while I'm driving in but after I park it, it "seems to disappear". I drive my car for me and while it's nice to be noticed, I wouldn't change anything about it for other people.
I have noticed at the Street Machine Nationals that even vettes with bright paint jobs and/or chrome don't SEEM to get as much attention as a well done Muscle Car.

Are you sure it's black? being invisible and all?
Maybe you could add a red stripe somewhere (red on black is )
Then the judges will say, whoa! why is there a red stripe floating in the air?

I used to have a black C4 and noticed the same thing. Never got noticed on the street, really. I love black on a vette- very classy and refined look, I think. I have been debating on going to black from red if I ever get my C3 painted..
Chrome and polished wheel really make a black vette look fantatic. I don't know about a racing stripe or other accents...but that's just me!
