275/60 x 15 Wheels on a 8 inch rim ?
Hi
How well do the 275/60 x 15 tires fit onto a 8 inch rim ?
Any pics ?
I intend to install those to the back and 255/60 x 15 on the front of my 68 Vette. Will I have any problems ?
Of course , I would like to keep this rims.
Thanks. Gunther

I have 275 60 15s on the back. I believe they are alittle bit to big. When im at speed going down the road and I hit a dip or something i can hear the tires rubbing the inside of the finder. Other than that they fit fine under the finder well.

I do have offset trailing arms but offset arms do NOT change the location of the wheel in any way, they just increase front clearance on the inside of the tire.
Anyway I have 305's on the back without a problem.

I've HAD 275/60x15 with a "good" suspension I had no problems rubbing at any time. But was a bit too tall, 28.5" (fills the wheelwell nicely). I am using 275/50x15 and like it (27" tall).

I have a set of 275/60/15 Drag Radials that I bought from Grandsport and the fit fine, but I di have to remove the e-brake bracket from the trailing arm as they did rub there

The originals had 27 " as far as I know.
I am presently running 235/70-15 and they have 28.5 " as well, so
similar to the 275/60-15.
For 255 large tires, what should they be to get to 28.5 " and what to get to 27 ".
Thanks a lot. Gunther

A P255-70-15 tire is right at 28.5-29" tall/diameter depending on brand.
Check out this web site for good tire size information...

Hi
Nice page, thanks.
What do you think about 28 " diameter in the back and 27 " in the front ?
Would that look stupid or is it not so visible, or may be cool lowering the cars nose slightly or ??
Rgds. Gunther

I had my 295x50x15's on on my 8 in. stock wheels with 265x50x15's on the front, I swithched to the 8.5 in. Convo Pros, I like the different diameter as well as width on mine

I had 295/50/15 BFG Radial T/A tires on my first Vette ('76) and had no issues because the rims had the proper offset. You can see a poor quality, scanned-in pic at the bottom of my website: http://webpages.charter.net/blunn/Corvette.html
