Default BBC Pushrods

Starting to do some work on recently aquired BB 454 in my 78. I have a 74 block with 100.9cc heads off a 68 427. Before I make any valve adjustments (hydraulic) are the BBC pushrods all the same length? I don't know what the previous owner as mixed and matched in this engine. I'm assuming pushrods for stock 74 can be used with a 68 427 head (using stock rockers)?

Well, intake and exhaust pushrods are different lengths on a BBC. AFAIK the stock pushrods should work with your combo.

The intake pushrods are not the same length as the exhaust. If I remember correctly the exhaust are about an inch longer.

Yeah - the intakes are 8.280 and the exhaust are 9.250. Didn't know if I needed anything longer to make the add ons work.

I just built a 74' 454 block (w/427 crank) with 106.9 cc closed chamber rectangle port heads from a late 60s 427 (or 396). I used stock length pushrods from comp cams, which work fine with the solid lifter setup. The rocker arm geometry looks the way it is suppose to. The intake and exaust are different lengths, but it would take a lot of beers to screw that up.
