The only thing left that doesn't work on my 69 is the headlight squirters, when I push the washer control, I can here the pump clicking, but no water squirts anywere.

Have you cleaned the line's ? can you remove line's a pump and blow low air
pressure back from the squirters. some pumps run and don't make pressure
Iv'e had the blue washer fluid clog up line's .. i wounder if it's the dye in it
because i find nothing but clumps of blue

I'm going to piggyback on your thread, if you don't mind, and ask if anyone has a diagram or pics of how the hoses for the headlight squirters are routed? I got the squirters, I got the pump fittings, but everything in between got pulled out by the previous owner for some reason.

I'll have to check that, I think the pump, or diaphram is faulty, because no water even exits out the pump itself.

Have you checked the gm manual, I'm not sure If I recal seing anything in the manual associated with washer lines.

I read somewhere (cann't remember where) that with the pump in the wiper motor instead of the bottle. You need to prime the pump, it does not create enough suction to pull from the bottle when it has dried out.

They were talking about systems that have gone dry from non-use.

How do you prime it? Got me.

Actually yes I would really like to how one would prime these little washer pumps, does anyone know?

The 69 headlight washer is unique. It doesn't use a separate pump...the water is pressurized/squirted by the same pump that "squirts" your windshield washer.

The little separate "gizmo" on the side of the windshield wiper motor is a solenoid. To get the HL washers to squirt, you have to HOLD the washer button in for a few seconds. This energizes the solenoid, and opens the circuit to allow water to flow through the hoses to the headlights. If you give the button a quick push, only the windshield squirters should work.

The HL hoses run in the bundle of wires/hoses that run along the drivers side inner fender.

They DO get plugged. I would first check all 4 HL nozzles. Give them the "blow" test and make sure they're not plugged. I'd then check the hoses all the way back to the solenoid. I'd then check to make sure that the pump/solenoid is "plumbed" correctly. Check your AIM. You'll find the HL squirters in there. Chuck
