Default CARB questions!

i have a 81 i just bought and been sitting about 4 years. i had all fluids changed in entire car. carb is not working well. what ...and if ...kind of carb and intake on this year vette can i buy. can a after market carb such as a holley or eldebrock be used? those are two that come to mind but i want the best carb for my car.....it is stock. thanks in advance for any help given. :flag

I have used both Holley and Edlebrock. I had the holley for 6 months. Didnt like it so then took off an d put a edlebrock on my 81. I liked it alot better. Also had a edlebrock intake.

is there any computer related issues in changing this carb and what eldebrock did you put on? my uncle is a car buff of sorts and recommened i use both eldebrock intake and 600 carb. any other tips would be welcomed. thanks for posting.

Have you considered having your stock carb rebuilt or even rebuilding it yourself?
