BB Performance Manifold
Looking for a new intake for my 454..but most say they won't clear the stock hood. What brands / models of performance intake manifolds will fit under a stock hood? Please point me in the right direction.

I can share you my formula
elderbrock performer 2-0 intake
1" spacer
elderbrock 750 cfm carb
Morrosso drop base air filter
KnN 2" tall 14" round air filter
KnN x-tream air filter top
all this on a stock moter under a L88 long hood. the one you find in Ecklers book
to my understanding the L88 hood os only 1"taller than stock.
so with the same combo as above San the spacer you should be ok.

If you do a search on this topic you will honestly find some very good information.
The selection of manifolds that will fit under the stock BB hood is, indeed, very limited. Forget any of the "hi-rise" intakes. There is the Edelbrock Torker II option (they make them for both rectangle and oval port heads) and there is the low-rise LS6 intake, which I believe was standard on the '71 LS6 454 Vette. These can be found on E-bay and elsewhere. I have one in my attic that I took off the car when I swapped on an L88 hood and went to an Edelbrock Performer Air-Gap manifold. Realize that the low-rise LS6 intake is for rectangle port heads.
