Default GUESS WHAT I FOUND UNDER THE CARPETS!!!!!!!!!

Actually under the drivers side carpet.......a cluth pedal. So, my question is......did GM put cluth pedals in all the models (1971) or is this indication or evidence that me car was once a 4 speed car?

HELP!!!!!!!

No, if your car has a clutch pedal, it was converted to automagic.

You should see evidence of the center crossmember of the frame being cut on in the past.

Bad knees, they want more consistant E.T.'s, their wife can't drive standard, they can't drive standard, they prefer automatics...

Don't forget: pesky third pedal getting in the way of new extra wide brake pedal.

That was the first Q that came to mind.

Also do you have the wide brake pedal? I'd guess not since manuals had the small one.

Does your frame have the bracket for the clutch linkage???

Wow- finding a clutch pedal under my carpet would have saved me some effort!

All I got when tearing out my interior was about $3.72 in old corroded change, and what appeared to be a crack pipe!

Actually, there was no lump in the carpet. The return spring had been disconnected and the pedal was resting against the floor....cammyflauged by the carpet.
Also, now that I think of it, the brake pedal is a small one. It never occured to me that it was not a big one because I am used to driving a stick for my work car.
I haven't crawled under the car yet. I am still working on sealing gaps and finishing my seat(s) resto. By the way, what is done looks great!!

Thanks for the input!!
