The original on my 69 (350/300 with auto) was an 8" unit.
When U rebuilt the motor I replaced it with a 6" version.
Motor definately picks up better.

On the 69, as well as most of the Corvette small blocks, the 6" balancer was used on the standard performance engines. The special high performance engines used the 8" balancers. Special high performance would be the solid lifter engines, and the 327/350, 350/350 and L82's. This was pretty much the case going back to the early 60's(maybe further back) and thru the late 70's.
