Default AC in a 69

I am looking at a 69 that has all the parts for the AC but is currently not hooked up. Can someone give me a general idea of cost to get it working again if in fact all parts are there?? Thanks in advance.

If sealed with a little charge you could change the expansion valve and dryer and recharge with R12 for about $200 assuming the compressor is good. Add $200 for a compressor if it's bad-I would probabaly change it anyway. The hose manifold is about $200 for a good repro or can be made from generic parts for about $100. So assuming you can do the work, figure minimum $200 parts, more likely closer to $500. If you hire it done add $300-400 to those figures. If the evaporator or condensor is bad the labor will be much more in addition to the parts.

I just replace the drier and service mine.. Only way to tell if everything is OK. I bought a $100 freon sniffer for my own diagnostics. it is worth the money... It's a tool you can use over and over... Even on your household A/C.
