Default Some more HP for a '77

My friend is looking into buying a '77 auto that is stock except for muffler eliminators. She is wondering what it would take to get the car to run 14.0 or better in the quartermile. Would a top end package work, would a crate engine be needed? Any kind of input would be helpful. Thanks.

GrandsportC3 put a 383 crate motor from AR engines in his 69 and turned mid 11's in the 1/4 mile, I believe it was less than $4000. There are endless possiblilties how how fast does she want to go ( read: how much money does she have to spend )

I believe that she falls under the classic "as fast as possible for as little as possible"

If the motor's OK, then N2O should fit her requirement.
Otherwise, for the 14.0's or better, she'll have to spend a little money.
Depends on how much. . .
I'm a lover of the old intake, heads, cam and exhaust.
That's the route I'm taking, but; I'm looking for 13.0's
