Lesson learned about RTV sealer: **DON'T USE ON GAS TANK!**
The following images explain my recent and sudden fuel starvation issue.
This is the pre-filter for the fuel pump.... worth EVERY PENNY.
Well... mark it up to inexperience and move along.

That stuff is terrible. if you use it on the pan,timing cover,valve covers, etc you can expect your oil pick up screen to look the same way. I have even seen engines ruined from oil starvation because of RTV plugging the oil pump. If you must use the stuff, make sure there is NO squeeze out inside the engine.... otherwise

Aww, man! I was told to use the crap to seal my intake manifold instead of the rubber strips that came with the gasket. Crap, there's another project on the list.

used properly rtv is fine on engines,especially intake end seals,gm uses it .Copper,ultra silver,blue,black are the ones to use.
