Serious Issue #2 - Broken oil dipstick
The reason I was frantic about Serious Issue #1, is that I noticed the last three inches of my oil dipstick has apparently broken off into the pan I guess.
I guess the only thing to do for this one is drop the pan before I run it again, right? :mad :mad
What a day...

Before I dropped the pan, I'd try fishing it out with magnet. Probably a small chance that you'd be able to do it, but dropping the pan is such a PITA!

Well it will probably lay in the bottom of the pan and not really go any where so I wouldn't be too frantic. Jerry

Even if it is just laying around in the pan, it probably wont get near the crank or rods. The screen on the oil pump pick up wont let it get through the pump.
Worst case: it gets thrown around.. its small and will make some noise!! but you could drive it till the pan gets dropped and the piece removed. Also, if the pan is down...good time to, replace the timing chain!

Thanks... the motor only has about 1500 miles on it, I mean, I just got all the lil' leaks fixed!
