11.789 @ 117.579 !!!! - NEW 100% STOCK RECORD!
After many runs and dedicated practice, reading tips and experimenting, I finally beat Ranger on a 2002 stock Z with street radials.
Conditions on the track were just right and allowed me to get a 11.781 @ 117.579 !!!! Yeehaw!!!
See my time slip here: http://pages.videotron.com/mystuff/2_time_slip.jpg
I came a long way from my 4th run of the year http://pages.videotron.com/mystuff/1_time_slip.jpg
Now on to better things, going to install a Vararam, Diablo programmer and lighter flywheel...

24psi on the rear, 46psi in front, 5 sec. burn out, launch 4K RPM, and lots of practice to get the least wheel spin and maximum pull... (good track conditions also help a lot)

That's an amazing 60'. Am I reading it right? 1.60 is better than most I've seen on drag radials. You should dyno that car, I think you might have a ringer.

Good track conditions? I'd say. I tried to launch at 4K rpm last week at ETown and can you say "spinning wheels?" Best I could do like that was a 2.1/60'. Coming out at 2K gave me a better 1.9, but I certainly didn't run a 11.7! Congrats on a fantastic accomplishment. BTW, your RT was very good as well.

Great run, good to see more guys in the 11's stock. Jrod has also run 11.7x bone stock, not sure exactly what number. What was the temp?

That would be 57 degrees F. Awesome run no matter what. Now, J-rod still has the record with an 11.783 bone stock, so you might want try and top that before changing over. I believe a mid 11.6x is possible bone stock under all the right conditions and driver!

Congrats on a very impressive run. I posted a reply on Z06vette, as I had already passed Ranger's 11.81 with an 11.783.
So, I'm still ahead of you by just a smidge. But like I said, great run...
60 - 1.818
330 - 4.999
1/8 - 7.610
MPH - 95.29
1000 - 9.868
1/4 - 11.783
MPH - 116.90

VAI ran a 11.781 Jrod 11.783 I think Vai is a hair quicker!

Re: 11.789 @ 117.579 !!!! - NEW 100% STOCK RECORD! (vai)
Very nice run, VAI. Congratulations.
Couple questions.
J-Rod and I have a few thousand posts here and on other boards and have written quite a bit about our cars, which we have owned from new. So we know their history.
To keep your documentation straight on this thread for the fast run, please tell us
1. What tires were you running? One post called them "street radials." Please confirm whether they are GY F1SCs and the size of the rears.
2. Please tell us the brand of air filter you ran with and whether the stock air box was being run, including the cover in its stock configuation, no extra holes, for example.
3. Did you buy the car used? If so, do you know whether or not there are any mods to the car? Are the rear gears stock? Is the PCM stock and without tuning? How do you know?
4. Did you run with an aftermarket shift light?
5. What clutch is in the car?
6. How many miles are on the car?
I'm not questioning your honestly in any way. Just that you don't have many posts about your car that would provide some insight on its history.
And it's VERY unusual to run fast times in the summer. For example, weather underground for Napierville carries 66-69F temp and 69-78% humidity in the (9p.m. and 10p.m.) hours near your run; certainly not a very good DA even at the near 200 foot altitude that you gave. That leads me to think that your car is producing 10-15 horsepower more than J-Rod's and mine. That's about what it would take to produce that time in the air you had.
I'm also a bit surprised that the quarter-mile time that you have cited in a couple posts here is not what shows on the slip you posted. That may seem like a small detail, but it is unusual.
Anyway, again, nice run and congratulations. I'll be interested in any answers you have time to provide.
