Default Quadrajet Vacumn Hook Up!

My 1970 Qjet has only two free vacumn ports. One on the front upper driver's side, and one on the passenger side protruding through the choke linkage. Which port is used for the vacumn advance?

Correction! The port on the front of the carb is on the upper passenger side, not the upper driver's side.

Go to "corvettefaq.com". Lars has a paper posted in the center of the home page which will answer your question better than anyone could.

If you want manifold vacuum, use the port by the choke. The only ported vacuum is low on the front drivers side and you will have to tee into it.

If you ask which to use, the answers will vary. Try each and see what the engine likes.
