So I had a dream.
So I had a dream last night. I was thinking about my C3 and what I want to do with it.
A 800-900hp blown C3 would be really cool. and probably be amazing. But you start getting into the problem of alot of things blowing up at the HP level, and start need to consider rear halfing the vette.
So instead of a goal of 800hp, if I bump it down to 600hp which is very obtainable without EFI, and Force feeding the engine, I can run in the high 9s low 10s. And worry less about rearends, trannies, posis, u-joints, blowing up.
A 600hp 502ci engine would be pretty mild. Thats just the ZZ502 shortblock with some AFR heads, the shortblock comes with a roller valvetrain, so a change of camshaft is about all thats needed. And is probably a heck of alot more reliable, and streetable than a 600hp stroked smallblock.
Though If I still want to add the supercharger later, I still could. But it would be preferable to use the next larger AFR CNC ported 335cc head, instead of the 315cc. But that is neither here nor there.
I am gonna have to ponder it awhile.
Your thoughts?

You won't get proper weight transfer with that heavy big block. I just don't see it running very fast with a stock suspension setup.

I took a lot of inspiration from merlin.
There was alot that he didnt pay attention too, and threw alot of money around.
Instead of the dual blower setup from whipple I was going to use the 3.3L rear entry supercharger.
He also I think didnt pay enough attention to the drivetrain. plus I wasnt going to body mod it out as much

I had a dream last night about a '78 pace car. The top of it was painted a cherry red while the sides were left the stock colors, decals and all. There was some very small lettering on the side of it in the same color red. It actually looked really cool. Eye catching, but not obnoxious.

In your dream, were you floating through the sky hanging from a hot air balloon on a rope, naked. With thousands of people below, cheering?????

I'd go with the simple BB idea. Aside from Norvalwilliam most of the blower guys can't ge traction or are at the unusable horsepower dilema, too big too fast scenerio where their car is no longer streetable nor safe. Get a 93 Civic put some stickers on it and you'll be fine.

If I am gonna start looking into a lower power catagory maybe a blown stroked smallblock is the way to go.
Z-man -- what you have going on there is sweet. What kind of power are you expecting out of it? And what are you doing about the lack of traction problem?

I looked at that. And while its interesting to think about. Its really stretching the limits of the small block. Much like the 638 is pushing the limits of a big block.
Not quite sure how I feel about that.

That was an amazing car, even if it was never really dialed in properly. How come it drew so much heat from everywhere? And how come folks here drove him off the forum when he came back and said he was thinking of buying it back? What. Is. The. Deal?

I thought everybody was very positive about the car, but I have noticed that there are a burgeoning group of people who have lost the dream and are stuck in cynical realism.
