Proform shift light
i got one of these new ones they have, i read in the directions that the warranty is void if connected to coil on msd ignition, i wish i read this part before i installed it, any one use one of these or know why you cant use it with a msd ignition??

You need to hook it up to the "tach" lead of the MSD box. The coil connection will give a false reading with the MSD multi-strike feature (I think the "tach" wire is the white wire but, check your instructions, it has been a long time since I used one, I am an Accel 300+ user!)

Works fine if you hook it to tach terminal directly on the MSD box. Just use a spade connector.
Make sure you use the little insulating stuff with it or make sure the bezel doesn't touch anything metal. It will light up if it does at all the wrong times!
Otherwise it works fine. Once I set the dial on the back to where I wanted it, I applied some silicone to the dial to hold it in place. I don't trust the dial not to turn in me and have me waiting till 10K rpm or something! If you want to re-adjust it later, just peal off glob of silicone , reset and then reseal it.
