I have a 74 L-82 that went with chambers. It's 2 1/2 inch pipes and really loud - the sound is awesome - but really loud. Did I say it was loud? It's loud. I got mine from Mid America for about $300. It's loud.

I have the MA chambered exhaust sitting in my garage waiting to get put on my 75 L48. I am scared to put them on now since they seem to be loud (I think that was what was said!) . I wanted an aggressive sound, but not one that is too obnoxious. I should have mine on this weekend so I'll let you know what I think.

Alas!!! i can finally help a fellow vette owner!! I live in dover delaware as well. I have a 71 L48 with about 420 HP. I just had my exhaust man do a custom 2.5'' exhaust, dynomax headers, X-pipe, and some nice flowmaster knockoffs.... Also, i noticed you go to school at Udel.... I'm taking a few summer courses there. Email me at nighthawk117a@excite.com

Mine is far from stock - maybe that's why it's so loud. At idle and neighborly cruising - it's <relatively> mellow, but as soon as I start to crawl into it - it's obnixious - but I love it. I took a day off and drove to Pittsburgh (from Dayton) and back. My ears were ringing when I got home. The downside to the non stock is I'm still running the exhaust manifolds. Headers are my next performance purchase.

I have 75 L82 with headers, 2 1/2 " pipes, and Magna Flow S.S. mufflers.
Sounds great and not to loud.

"But why not make it 10"

I am quieting mine down too. Putting the mufflers back into the sidepipes. Engine is out also, Heads/cam/intake/carb/rockers/ etc etc. Gonna be a bit louder, and more importantly....faster.

Default Exhaust

On my 79 installed Hedmen Hedders, ran 2.5 Dual Exhuast with X pipe, and used Flowmaster Delta 50s. Not extemely loud, Delta 40s would be louder, but Im happy with this setup.
